Taking Responsibility for Making Melbourne Manageable

In February 2008, Council endorsed a broad program of activities to reform University governance and management. The objective of the program is to align more clearly and simply, responsibilities, resources and accountabilities.  Work continues to be undertaken in a broad range of areas that were outlined in the paper considered by Council.  A summary of progress and further information on the project can be obtained by contacting a member of the SVP Office.

The Taking Responsibility for Making Melbourne Manageable (TRMMM) Working Group was established to support the Senior Vice-Principal and, in relation to academic matters, the President, Academic Board on implementing the University’s governance reforms.  The Working Group comprises key central officers with key roles in overseeing the proposed changes along with some faculty representation.  Through the Senior Vice-Principal, the Working Group reports to the Vice-Chancellor and, on matters relating to Council, to the Nominations and Governance Committee and, as necessary, the Legislation and Trusts Committee.  The Working Group reports through the President, Academic Board to the Academic Board.
