The SVP's management portfolio
Decision-Making Mechanisms
In June 2008 revised meeting arrangements within University portfolios of responsibility (which replace the former Planning and Budget Committee’s sub-committees) were finalised by portfolio heads in consultation with their stakeholders. The Senior Vice-Principal is accountable to the Vice-Chancellor for a range of activities and as such the following advisory groups are in operation as channels for decision-making.
Advisory groups within the Senior Vice-Principal’s portfolio include:
- Administrative Policies and Practices Group advises on the development and implementation of effective and efficient administrative polices and practices.
- Infrastructure Planning Group advises on infrastructure and budget planning. This includes built and virtual environments, prioritisation of capital and information projects, and renewal of IT and physical assets.
- University Systems Group advises on operational matters relating to the planning and delivery of University systems. This includes identification of IT system priorities (and associated operating costs) to support business requirements.
- Marketing and Communications Reference Group provides advice and integration of marketing and communications activities across the University, and facilitates a coordinated, consultative and University-wide approach to marketing activities across faculties/graduate schools and relevant central areas.
