Background to the project
The University of Melbourne’s Growing Esteem strategy is conceived as a triple helix - three strands of core activities in teaching and learning, research and knowledge transfer - each sharply focused and well-resourced, and all mutually supportive. Each is valued in its own right, but taken together the three strands define the purpose and character we seek for the University of Melbourne.
The strategy, including introduction of the Melbourne Model, is redefining and reshaping how the University will operate in the years to come. Ensuring that the University is equipped with cost efficient enabling support services which deliver quality services within the available resources is vitally important.
Introducing these changes are occurring within a challenging environment – limited revenue growth, rapidly developing technology, changing service expectations, and now global financial and sharemarket turmoil.
