Records Management
Project Summary
A new sub stream has been created in Workstream 5 (Change Management) of the Responsible Division Management Implementation (RDMI) Project.
Changes brought by the implementation of Responsible Division Management have an impact on records management responsibilities. With devolved responsibilities, in HR and EHS specifically, managing corporate records centrally becomes less practical. More efficient processes, including increased use of electronic rather than hard copy file maintenance, will reduce costs to budget divisions as they take on additional responsibilities. Clarifying accountability for records management will remove existing confusion over responsibility for implementing good records management practice, and improve compliance under the Public Records Act.
Records Services will lead defining the arrangements as well as overseeing the implementation of relevant practices and procedures (as the effective functional business owner).
The substream is coordinated with the Policy Framework sub stream, which is working in collaboration with the TRMMM ‘Policy Library’ Project to develop a policy framework (policy-on-policy), a document repository and related tools, templates and standards for the management of official University policy documents.
