INTRODUCTION
This website is designed to keep University of Melbourne staff informed about the transition to Responsible Division Management (RDM). RDM will take effect on 1 January 2010.
On 14 September 2009, feedback was invited on a proposed Staff Transition Process (STP). On 23 September 2009, draft new organisational and position descriptions were released for feedback and the consultation period was extended to the 2nd October 2009.
The consultation period has now closed and over 100 responses and suggestions were received and considered. Feedback relating to the new organisational structures and position descriptions has been taken into account by relevant Budget Divisions in settling final organisational structures and position descriptions.
A meeting of Budget Division representatives and Practice Leaders, together with an NTEU observer, occurred on Friday 16 October to undertake Stage 1 of the STP and to place as many staff as possible directly into new positions. Staff will be notified of the nominal individual outcomes on 23 October 2009.
Following this notification, any unplaced staff will be eligible to participate in Stage 2 of the RDM STP – being the merit selection process. The website has been revised to include:
- an updated listing of the available positions
- a timeline of the merit selection process
- support for staff participating in merit selection
- a sample email for applying for available positions.
